FOOD PANTRY NEEDS

May items needed for the Food Pantry are canned fruit. If you can help provide for the Food Pantry, various places within the church are available for you to bring your donations. Thank you!

 

Did you know that the Personal Dignity Kits are the most requested kits from Midwest Missions? As part of our Ingathering contributions, we would like to fill up their supply! The kits include the following items. You can bring ANY or all.

   1 Hand Towel - no kitchen towels

   1 Washcloth - no dish cloths

   1 Adult toothbrush - no multi packs

   1 Bar Soap - 3-4 oz.

   1 Shampoo - 12-19 oz.

   1 Deodorant - 2-3 oz. stick, roll-on, or pump

   1 Lotion - 8-10 oz.

 

Moms in Faith

Moms in Faith will meet during Sunday school in the lounge on  April 28. Come join our group for a time of connection and support with other moms, a Bible lesson, and prayer. Please reach out to Amanda Thul with any questions at 815-715-6807.

The Humboldt United Women in Faith are pleased to announce that Mel Schroeder will be guest speaker for Guest Day on Thursday, May 2. The program will be on HONOR FLIGHTS and begin at 2 p.m. in Morehouse Fellowship Hall. Dessert will be served. All women of Humboldt, Dakota City, and the surrounding area are invited for this time of fellowship and information. There will be an opportunity for you to contribute to Honor Flights.

Scholarship Application Deadline

The deadline for all applications for Scholarships from Faith United Methodist Church - Humboldt, Gilmore City, Livermore is Friday, May 10, 2024. If any of our seniors have misplaced their applications but would like to turn one in, they are available at the church office. They must be turned in to the church office by May 10th in order to be considered. pPease remember the Church office is open Monday - Thursday, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

The Humboldt County Democrats thank you all for letting us use Room 21 to collect our books and the fellowship hall for our book sale. The book sale was a huge success! We collected almost $2,000.00 to contribute to the six public libraries in our county. Everyone was so generous! We enjoyed seeing everyone carrying out bags and boxes of books, puzzles, DVDs, CDs, games, toys, and albums. We have moved all the books and 2 boxes of albums (the collection of Eugene Smith) back into Room 21. Please stop in and help yourself. Fill some bags or boxes. Everything is free.

 

Something new

Hanging from the window in the Church office (by West entrance) is a large calendar with the church events listed. This lets you look at the calendar and if there is something that needs to be added, email Jodi at fumcoffice@fumcfamily.com or call 515-332-2083 to add your event.

You are invited to special worship and all-church picnic June 2

Faith United Methodist Church of Humboldt County invites you to worship with us followed by a celebration picnic on June 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. We will have one worship service at the Humboldt Center that day.
 
We will express our thanks to all who helped us through this past year! Whether you filled our pulpits, gave us logistical support, or supported our ministry in other ways, we want to express our gratitude & appreciation!
 
We will also honor Pastor Lewis Flanigan and wish him all the best in his final (we hope!) retirement. Pastor Lewis has been such a blessing to Faith Church in his short time with us! 

 

An all-church picnic will follow in the east yard of the Humboldt Center (weather permitting). All food will be provided by the church. If you are unable to join us for worship, please come for the picnic!
